Wigs for Kids is a nonprofit organization that helps children suffering from hair loss because of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, alopecia, trichotillomania, burns, and other medical causes. 

To ensure every client understands Alchemy Salon's role and process:

  • The fee for "The Cut + Donation" service is strictly for "The Cut" portion—the professional haircut you receive.
  • The hair donation itself is a complimentary add-on. Alchemy Salon is a non-profit affiliate and receives no financial compensation from the donation or Wigs for Kids.
  • Alchemy Salon accepts the expense of preparing and mailing your donation to Wigs for Kids for your convenience.
  • The salon is not a drop-off location and will only accept and process donations as part of the scheduled "The Cut + Donation" service appointment.
  • If you have hair to donate that has already been cut and follows the WFK requirements; you can mail your donation to the address listed above.

Alchemy Salon works exclusively with Wigs for Kids for hair donations. 


Donation Form

By filling out the Hair Donation form and including a print out of your barcode or the ID number with the donation, you will be notified when your hair is received.  


Packages not containing a barcode/ID number are understood to be anonymous donations.

The process begins with an initial consultation to discuss your desired look and ensure your hair meets the minimum length requirement of 14 inches for donation to Wigs for Kids. Your hair, which needs to be clean and dry, will be carefully sectioned into ponytails or braids and cut to the required length. Following the donation portion of the service, you'll receive a shampoo and then we will create your new, desired haircut and style. 

Yes. Appointments can be made online through my website. After choosing the "The Cut + Donation" service you will be prompted to choose the date and time based on availability. 

Payment is for The Cut service; the donation cut portion is complimentary. 

Alchemy salon handles the packaging and shipping of your hair donation to Wigs for Kids.
Your hair is wrapped and sealed by itself and then all individual packages are grouped together and are typically sent out as one large package at the end of each month. 

Generally, by this point, the salon has enough donations to contribute enough hair that is necessary to create one full hair system.

If you would like to be notified regarding your donation you will need to fill out the Wigs for Kids Hair Donation form prior to your appointment. You will be given an ID number and barcode to bring with you that will be sent in along with your hair. You can expect a thank you within 60 days of Wigs For Kids receiving your donation.
